This session will focus on these complexities, including the changes as they relate to not only Chapter 19, but for stress and pathologic fractures as well. Translating ICD-10-PCS Root Operations and Services

A solid understanding of the language used in ICD-10-PCS is the key to accurate coding of procedures and services. Familiar terms, appendectomy, hysterectomy, and tonsillectomy are not used to locate or describe procedures in the new coding system. While many of the terms used in the new coding system are familiar, the new or revised definitions are easily confused with how these terms are used today.
