SUMMARY

Navigating today’s healthcare revenue cycle requires more than just routine billing knowledge—it demands strategic insight, regulatory awareness, and cross-functional collaboration. This half-day interactive workshop is designed to help physician practices and healthcare business offices proactively identify, analyze, and resolve pain points across the revenue cycle continuum—from patient access and front-end workflows to claim submission, denial resolution, and final collections. Participants will walk away with practical strategies to reduce delays, prevent denials, and improve net revenue outcomes.

Led by two seasoned experts with decades of experience in coding, billing, AR management, and payer contracting, this session will dissect the most common breakdowns in pre-service authorization, medical necessity verification, coding and documentation compliance, claims management, and appeals. You’ll engage in real-world case scenarios, review payer policy pitfalls, and learn actionable tactics to enhance claim success rates and boost collections. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or a front-line team member, this workshop will equip you with tools to build a more resilient, compliant, and financially sustainable revenue cycle operation.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Understand the full revenue cycle lifecycle (“cradle to grave”) and pinpoint where the most common bottlenecks and revenue leaks occur.
  • Strengthen pre-registration workflows, including eligibility verification, pre-certification, and authorization tracking, to minimize preventable denials.
  • Identify high-risk denial trends and implement denial management best practices to drive timely appeals and reduce rework.
  • Develop winning appeal strategies, including crafting effective appeal letters, leveraging payer guidelines, and monitoring overturn rates.
  • Assess and mitigate bad debt risk, while optimizing patient financial engagement and collections strategies.
  • Enhance collaboration across departments (front desk, billing, coding, compliance, AR) to streamline handoffs and reduce errors.
  • Apply current payer regulations, Medicare policies, and medical necessity standards (e.g., LCDs/NCDs) in your workflows to remain compliant and audit ready.
  • Use KPIs and performance dashboards to monitor financial health, AR aging, and denial trends in real time.

  • This workshop is essential for any team looking to improve reimbursement accuracy, defend against revenue erosion, and position their practice for success under today’s regulatory and payer scrutiny.
