Insurance carriers are increasing the number of audits that are being performed to ensure that reimbursement is correct for E/M services. The musculoskeletal specialties do have their own unique set of criteria necessary to perform in a visit to meet the criteria of the 1995 or 1997 E/M guidelines. The 1997 E/M guidelines have a musculoskeletal system examination. But is that the one you should default to? This webinar will discuss E/M coding for the musculoskeletal specialties and what work best in obtaining the maximum reimbursement and still meeting medical necessity.
We will also discuss the 7 elements of a Compliance Plan and what you should be doing in your office to assist in creating or maintaining an audit program as part of your compliance plan.
