Codify’s search, navigation, and code details page work together to keep everything in one place, so you can move from question to code without breaking your flow.

Let’s start with the search bar. No matter where you are in Codify, the perpetual search bar is always at the top of the screen. You can use it anytime to find codes, indexes, tools, or publications without leaving the page you’re on.

Next to the search bar is a dropdown that lets you control what you’re searching. You can narrow your search to specific code sets or expand it to include indexes, tools, or publications. This makes it easier to get the right type of result without extra filtering later.

Codify supports several ways to search. You can search by keyword, like low back pain, or by a specific code. You can also search multiple codes at once by separating them with commas, or use a code range if you’re reviewing a series of related codes. Short phrases work best here—just type what you’re looking for and press Enter.

Built right into this same search bar is AI-powered Smart Search. This lets you search using natural language, acronyms, or multi-word phrases. Press Enter, then click the AI Smart Search tab on the results page. Each result shows the code and description and links directly to the full code details, so you can quickly see what’s relevant.

Once you click into a code, you’re taken to the Code Details page, which is where everything comes together. Here, you’ll see official descriptors, guidelines, lay terms, illustrations, and historical information. Depending on your subscription, you may also see crosswalks, fee schedules, and related articles tied to that code.

You can customize this page to match how you work. Rearrange widgets, set the order of tabs, or hide sections you don’t use—and save that layout so it stays consistent across the code set.

Each code also includes personal notes that only you can see. You can jot down reminders or coding tips, and Codify keeps those notes linked to the code year after year.

At the top of the page, you’ll find quick-action icons. You can download or print the code details, add the code to favorites or your notepad, or — depending on your subscription — send the code directly to tools like the Real-Time Scrubber, CCI Edits Checker, or Global Days Calculator.
