What’s the presenter's background/expertise on this topic?

In her previous role, Lucreia served as a Coding Manager for the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Her goal was to make sure they received the maximum reimbursement for patient visits in Family Medicine, Pathology, Dermatology, Anesthesia, and OB/GYN. She educated Physicians and Department Managers on documentation in an effort to make sure medical coders could code to the highest level of specificity.

Ms. Bennett received her Master of Art in Management with emphasis in Human Resource Development from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from the Medical University of South Carolina. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) and a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with more than 30 years’ experience in the Health Information Profession. She has worked as a Health Information Department Manager in Acute Care, Outpatient Care and Rehabilitation Care. She also has worked as a Remote Senior Medical Coder for more than 5 years and has taught in the Health Information Management profession for more than 32 years to include Program Director of an Associate Degree Program in Health Information Technology.
