coding "presumed primary" location of neoplasm?

Richlands, NC
Best answers
I have a confirmed secondary of liver but the histology shows colon as primary; however they didn't actually FIND any cancer in the colon and documentation states "presumed primary is colon". The cancer center has coded that as D49.0 (neoplasm of unspecified behavior of digestive system) but I don't think that's right. I know that C80.1 is Malignant (primary) neoplasm, unspecified site but do I use that since the histology shows colon?
