What happens if the name on my AAPC account is different than the name on my ID?

U.S. Bahamas, and Jamaica

You are required to present a valid, government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport, state-issued ID card) on exam day or you will be considered a no-show and your exam will be cancelled. Temporary, paper, copies, or digital IDs are NOT permitted.

Please ensure that your first and last name on the valid, government-issued photo ID EXACTLY match your first and last name as they appear on the scheduling screens. If you have more than one last name listed on your government-issued ID, the same last names must be reflected on your confirmation email.
If your first and last names are incorrect, please contact AAPC at 800-626-2633 immediately, no later than 48 hours prior to your exam date.

India

You are required to present TWO valid, government-issued photo IDs (e.g., driver's license, passport, state-issued ID card) on exam day or you will be considered a no-show and your exam will be cancelled. Temporary, paper, copies, or digital IDs are NOT permitted.

Effective March 27, 2023 for India residents

• Approved identification must be DigiLocker Verified.

• Candidates must open the DigiLocker app in front of the proctor (no screenshots, printed versions, etc. allowed).

• Candidate must allow proctor to review their digital Aadhaar card within the app under Issued Documents. Match the photo to the individual and the name to the name on the confirmation email.

• A second form of ID (PAN Card, drivers license, state ID, passport) is required to be shown in the DigiLocker App.

• If a candidate does not have the digital Aadhaar card AND a second form of identification in DigiLocker, they will not be admitted.

• If the photo or name does not match the exam registration EXACTLY, the candidate will not be admitted. You will be considered a no-show and you will need to repurchase the exam attempt.
