Medical Billing 101
Medical Billing and Medical Coding have been used synonymously over the years. However there is a difference between these two disciplines. The role of a medical biller is to follow the revenue cycle after the charges and codes have been established and submitted. A medical biller can determine if all the charges submitted have been properly paid to keep the flow of money coming in to the business.
This webinar will run through the basics of medical billing and the impact this job has on your business. Please join us as we review this important function in the medical office as well as how to continue this education with the Certified Professional Biller credential from AAPC.
In this presentation you will learn:
- What is the correct information to obtain from registration
- Differences in insurance types and their requirements
- How to order insurance carriers through coordination of benefits
- Differences in CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms
- Proper uses of modifiers
- Global packages requirements and NCCI Edits
- Insurance adjudication process and patient’s responsibility
