Prolonged service codes exist to allow for additional payment to the provider for time spent above and beyond typical times. In 2016 a new emerged for Prolonged Clinical Staff Services with Physician Or Other Qualified Health Care Professional Supervision. These join the codes for Prolonged Service codes for physicians and other qualified health care professional in both “face to face” and “non face to face” situations. A full understanding of these codes may help your practice capture dollars they have been losing unintentionally.

Jill has over 30 years of medical experience with a diverse background in all areas from clinical to billing, and many different physician specialties.
