Learn more about this event
There has been a marked increase in hospital ownership of both physician practices and their physical locations in the past few years. Officially, this ownership caused a change in location for billing purposes from Place of Service (POS) 11 – Office, to POS 22 – Outpatient Hospital. For 2016 there is now POS 19 – Off Campus Outpatient Hospital. The change from POS – 11 to POS 19 or 22 comes with billing implications which some say are significant. This webinar will cover:
• Discerning which Place of Service is the correct one for their practice
• Understanding the official definition of “campus” and off campus
• Learning if there are any additional changes to POS 19 and 22 in the future
• The background of Provider Based Billing and how we got to where we are today
• What services are and are not billable under Provider Based Billing
• The significant effect it has on Non Physician Practitioner’s supervision and billing
• Financial ramifications to patients
