Learn more about this event
Providers are used to receiving record requests from Medicare contractors and private payers, and it’s wise to check specifically who a request is from. What if the request comes from the Office of the Inspector General? Would you know what to do and what your rights are? Since its 1976 establishment OIG has been at the forefront of the Nation’s efforts to fight waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare, Medicaid and more than 100 other HHS programs. With a focus on preventing fraud, an OIG request can be more serious than others. Using actual providers’ experiences as case studies, this webinar will take you through receipt of an OIG audit request and subpoena, what you should and should not do, what to expect, and some possible outcomes.
